The 3rd edition of the competition is organised by the Agronutritional Cooperation of Region of Crete with the support of various other local institutions such as the Association of Olive Municipalities of Crete (SEDYK), the Cretan Olive Oil Network Exporters Association Of Crete (SEK), the Organoleptic Evaluation Laboratory of the Union Of Agricultural Cooperatives Of Rethymnon, the Association Of Olive Oil Labelling Producers Of Crete (SYTEK) and the Institute of Olive, Subtropical Plants and Vine Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania.
The registration for the competition opened last week (January 25), while March 6th is the final day for entries and samples submission. The organisers have as a main goal to highlight all special organoleptic characteristics of Cretan Oils and urge all local producers to create olive oils, that could meet the highest quality standards. The competition is both for conventional and organic olive oils.
