Besides the expected beets, pepperoncini, tomato and feta cheese, the Greek salad at Athens Souvlaki in Detroit, comes with chick peas, a legume that they started adding to their salads about five years ago. George Antonopoulos, the owner, says its his restaurant's most popular dish and offers Greek salad by not including onions and cucumbers because at least half the people who order ask to leave one or the other off.
Melody Baetens of Detroit News visited the restaurants and describes the experience.
