Eleonia olive oil is distinct and of a high quality; extracted from the silver-green olive groves of the Greek island of Lesvos. The climate of the island, along with the natural ingredients of the soil contribute to the high quality of the olive oil, which characteristics are low acidity, bright golden-yellow color (chlorophyll content), light texture, distinctive aroma and delicate taste. In addition, Eleonia is classified P.G.I. (Protected Geographical Indication) by EU, guaranteeing a superior quality and integrity of the product.
Eleonia Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from the Kolovi variety olive groves of the Gera region in Lesvos. It is considered to be one of the oldest olive varieties in the world, found only on Lesvos island, in Greece.
These trees are grown without the use of any additives, giving a fruit that has a rich taste and colour. It has very low acidity, which does not exceed 0.4%, a feature that contributes to the high fruity taste.
The method used for extracting the oil from these olives (cold-press) is considered to be the most effective and natural way, without the use of machines or any chemicals.
