A bitter olive oil from Arcadia Greece, that reached a California university.
A study by the University of California found that the olive oil from the region of Arcadia in western – central Peloponnese, in Greece, has a very special content with high portions of pharmaceutical characteristics.

Research results showed that climate conditions in the area of central and western Peloponnese help create a particular composition of products rich in a substance called “eleoalakanthi” that gives very special medical attributes. Results of this research are going to be presented these days in a conference in the area.

This olive oil is based on a local variety called “Choraitiki” that gives a unique bitter taste to the oil from olive groves around Olympia and Karytena in Peloponnese.
