Ariston Select
Capturing the 'very best' of Greece

Ariston Select a Greek extra virgin olive oil, authentic product of the Messinia region in Greece is brought to us by the Doukas Family and local cooperatives (Ariston Specialties).

Smooth, well rounded olive-fruit taste with buttery finish and no acidic aftertaste, all in the exceptional design of the Cleopatra bottle. Ariston pairs well with salads, citrus flavours, fish, chicken, pork, drizzle over red meats, fresh and roasted vegetables, feta cheese, mozzarella cheese, any Greek dish, etc. and is great as a dipping oil as well.

Ariston Select is exceptionally low in acidity (0.2- 0.4%), resulting in a high quality premium olive oil.

It has received 4 awards: Product of the Year 2013 Connecticut Food Association, Silver medal at the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition in 2012, Attendees Award Sial Montreal 2012 Olive D’Or and Bronze Medal International Extra Virgin Olive oil Competition in 2008.

Picking of the olives at Ariston Specialties starts in October/November by hand. The fruit is collected using the traditional way with ladders and sticks that cause the olives to fall down onto special nets that are spread temporarily during the harvest under the tree. At the same time that the olive fruit is picked, the tree is pruned as required. The olives are then placed into sacks and pressed within 24-48 hours to prevent the olives from ripening. The olives are put through a wash and then made into a paste from which the Extra Virgin Olive oil is extracted, cold pressed.
