Harvesting activities continue and despite the drought of the previous period, all facts show that 2018 will be another year with high products in the Olive Oil market. The Quality Competition for packed branded extra virgin olive oils "Kotinos 2018" will be the perfect chance for oilive oil producers to display their products and gain recognition among the food industry experts that will visit the International Food and Beverage Exhibition "FOOD EXPO 2018".
The Competition is organised for the 3rd consecutive year by the Association of Friends of Olive Oil, FILAIOS and will follow the strict criteria of the International Olive Council (IOC). Participating extra virgin olive oils will be called upon to showcase their uniqueness and will be distinguished for their organoleptic characteristics, by certified and internationally renowned tasters.
"Kotinos 2018" concerns three award categories:
- Extra virgin PDO & PGI olive oils,
- Organic extra virgin olive oils, and
- Standardised conventional extra virgin olive oils.
The deadline for submitting applications is February 15, 2018. The award ceremony will be held during an event dedicated to the quality of olive oil, which will be organised by the FILAIOS Association on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in a dedicated area of FOOD EXPO 2018.
