Greek olive oils used for medical research
Three studies reviewed Greek High Phenolic Extra Virgin Olive Oil to examine ancient wisdom of food as medicine.

Greece has over a 1000 extra virgin olive oils that meet and exceed the EU criteria for health-promoting phenolic content.

Dr. Prokopios Magiatis at the University of Athens discovered an accurate way to measure the polyphenols in olive oil using sophisticated Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) technique. His interest was primarily in oleocanthal. Oleocanthal was pulling out front in research for its broad reaching affect on chronic disease like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and heart attacks, diabetes and others. Its effectiveness was proving itself in the prevention, treatment and sometimes reversal of symptoms.
